SAFETY
ORIENTATION
MGGOA –
The purpose of this pamphlet
and orientation is to familiarize each member of MGGOA with Standard Operating
Procedure (SOP) for shooting at
1.
Sign in and out
for each range.
2.
Members must wear
their membership cards at all times while on range.
3.
Guests are
welcome, but they must be accompanied and monitored by a member, who is
responsible for his/her guest’s actions.
4.
No one under 18,
including children of members, can shoot unsupervised.
5.
ALL PERSONS ON
FIRING LINE AND SPECTATORS MUST WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION.
6.
NO ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES ALLOWED ON RANGE.
7.
Always clean up
after yourself or others.
8.
BE AWARE OF
IMPACT AREA. KNOW WHERE YOUR BULLET IS STOPPING.
9.
NO HOURSEPLAY.
10.
Think before you
shoot. If you notice unsafe acts then bring it to the shooter’s attention in a
courteous manner.
11.
NO FULL AUTO on
any range.
1.
Action open at
all times, until on station, doubles must be broke open.
2.
Load no more than
two shells.
3.
No shot larger
than 7 ˝.
4.
No gauge larger
than 12.
5.
No more than 5
people per squad.
6.
Key holders are
responsible for safety and paying fees.
7.
Use common sense.
Watch your muzzle.
8.
DO NOT FORGET TO
PAY, OTHERWISE THAT IS STEALING.

5 STAND: Members $5.00, Nonmembers $7.00
1.
Be aware of
target height and angle, so bullets do not go over berm.
2.
When shooting
steel targets or bowling pins you must be 10 yards away from target.
3.
DO NOT SHOOT
STEEL TARGETS WITH RIFLE CARTRIDES OR SHOTGUN SLUGS.
4.
Keep handguns
cased or holstered at all times unless shooting.
5.
Do not shoot
props. If not sure don’t shoot it.
6.
Only use target
frames provided in bays. Do not use frames in shelter. They are for matches.
You may bring your own.
7.
On match day
range is closed for casual shooting unless you get permission from match
director.
8.
If sign is posted
to NOT use the bay, then do not use the bay.
9.
Bay 5 is for
matches only.
10.
Police all trash.
11.
If you see any
unsafe actions, please correct.
RULES OF THE RIFLE RANGE
OBSERVE SAFE PRACTICES AT ALL TIMES
ALL BULLETS MUST IMPACT THE BERM
(NOT THE GROUND)
1.
No full automatic
firearms.
2.
No C.F. Rifles
with muzzle velocities below 2400 fps shooting from concrete benches.
3.
No shooting from
the ground in front of the concrete benches.
4.
If your rifle is
not sighted in, you must go to the 25 yard line and shoot from the wooden
benches or from bench #30 into the mini berm to sight
in your rifle.
5.
All targets must
be 48 to 72 inches above the ground. (Use the club furnished frames).
6.
All R.F. rifles
must be shot with “bullet trap” target frames or with a target frame placed
against the berm.
Remember – You are
responsible for your bullet!
ANY INFRACTION OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN EXPULSION
FROM MGGOA MEMBERSHIP!
