The Middle Georgia Gun Owners Association (MGGOA) was formed on February 4th, 1994. Our goal was to promote the shooting sports in every way possible, build a multiple use range facility and, to protect our right to keep and bear arms. We are chartered by the state as a non- profit organization. We are affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA), National Bench Rest Shooters Association (NBRSA), International Benchrest Shooters (IBS), United States Rimfire Association (USRA) IR50/50, United States Practical Shooting Association, and the International Practical Shooting Confederation.

Regular dues are $100 per year with an additional initiation fee of $50 when you first join the club.  While match competitors do not have to be members of MGGOA to compete.  Many, even from out of town, have joined as either lifetime or regular members.

In addition to use by our members, organized matches, etc. our club hosts or sponsors a number of events each year to help local and national organizations in their own fund raising events. We have events for the Exchange Club, American Cancer Society, Friends of the NRA, Project Venison, and High School Skeet and Trap Teams, among others.

Our club recognizes no type of discrimination. Essentially the only requirements for membership are that the individual be a law abiding citizen with no federal or state prohibitions against them owning firearms and be an NRA member.
